Avid Xdeck is a direct-ingest system for Avid Unity for News, Avid Unity MediaNetwork, and Avid Unity LANshare shared media systems. The Avid Xdeck device is designed as a "virtual VTR" for broadcast feed and tape acquisition, and also for other media facilities requiring dedicated ingest of video material into Avid Unity MediaNetwork and LANshare systems. Multiple Avid Xdeck systems can be connected to an Avid Unity media network - up to thirty concurrent feeds- letting all attached editors access media simultaneously just seconds after recording begins. Or ingest multiple streams directly into an Avid Unity LANshare system, using standard networking and broadcast control protocols.
