Carl Zeiss IOL Master XP
ASIA (North East)
The IOLMaster XP is an advanced
non-contact optical biometer developed by ZEISS.
It is primarily used by ophthalmologists to
take highly precise measurements of
the eye's physical dimensions in preparation
for cataract surgery and to calculate the
correct intraocular lens (IOL) to implant.
Specification & Options
Axial Length: The physical length of the eyeball.
Keratometry: The curvature of the cornea.Anterior Chamber
Depth: The space between the cornea and the iris.
White-to-White: The horizontal distance across the cornea.
The "XP" designation refers to iterations of the IOLMaster
(such as models 5.4 or V.4) that were integrated with
the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system.
These older but highly reliable systems included
upgraded hardware for faster calculation times
and allowed doctors to utilize modern formulas
(like the Haigis-L formula) for calculating lens power
in patients who previously had vision correction procedures like LASIK or PRK.
