The second-hand Centervue S-MAIA microperimeter is an advanced system for
assessing retinal sensitivity, macular function and fixation stability.
The combination of microperimetry and SLO confocal imaging allows the
patient’s functional response to be precisely correlated with retinal structures,
supporting the diagnosis and follow-up of macular disorders.
The system incorporates an active retinal tracker that compensates for
eye movements in real time, improving the accuracy and repeatability of
the examination. It allows for the performance of preset or customised tests,
analysis of the preferential retinal point (PRL), and the repetition of stimuli on
the same retinal areas during subsequent check-ups.

Compared with the standard MAIA model, the Centervue S-MAIA Microperimeter
also performs scotopic tests using cyan and red stimuli, which are useful for assessing rod sensitivity
and red-cone response, respectively. It can operate without pupil dilation with pupils up to 2.5 mm in
diameter and even in the presence of mild cataracts or opacities of the ocular media,
making it particularly suitable for retina centres, ophthalmology clinics and facilities specialising in
the study of macular degeneration.
