The used Nidek RS-3000 Advance 2 OCT with AngioScanis a professional
Spectral Domain optical coherence tomographysystem designed to
provide high-resolution retinal images and a comprehensive analysis of
the retina, macula and glaucoma.
The integration of OCT technology with the SLO (Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope)
system allows for real-time acquisition of fundus images, improving scanning accuracy
and the quality of the examination even in the presence of ocular media that are not perfectly transparent.
The Nidek RS-3000 Advance 2 achieves an acquisition speed of up to 85,000 A-scans/sec and
features the Eye Tracer system with HD Tracing, which compensates for eye movements in
real time to ensure stable, repeatable and accurate scans during follow-up examinations.
Analysis functions include macular thickness mapping, RNFL analysis, optic nerve assessment,
ganglion complex analysis and comparison with normative databases for the macula and optic disc.
The AngioScan OCT-Angiography module enables non-invasive analysis of retinal microvascularisation,
with assessment of the various vascular plexuses, vascular density and perfusion maps,
automatic detection of the FAZ and panoramic acquisition up to12 x 12 mm.
