Optos California P200DT
AMERICA North (USA-Canada-Mexico)
Used Optos California P200DT panoramic ophthalmoscope
200° ultra-widefield single-capture retinal imaging with FA capability.
Non-contact SLO, no dilation required for most patients.
Autofluorescence and red-free modes included
The Optos California P200DT is Optos’s flagship ultra-widefield retinal imaging system, capturing 200° of the retina in a single non-contact image — without montage, without lens, without dilation for most patients. This used unit includes the fluorescein angiography (FA) module, enabling dynamic peripheral vascular assessment that traditional fundus cameras can’t reach. At $38,500, it delivers Optos-level widefield coverage at significantly below new-equipment pricing.
Peripheral retinal pathology is routinely missed by standard 45°–60° fundus cameras.
Research published in the National Library of Medicine demonstrates that
ultra-widefield imaging reveals peripheral lesions —
including peripheral neovascularization in diabetic retinopathy and
far-periphery tears — that would otherwise go undocumented in
routine fundus photography.
Why Practices Choose the Optos California
200° single-capture ultra-widefield imaging — the full posterior pole plus far periphery
in one image, no montage required; covers more peripheral retina than
any traditional fundus camera
Fluorescein angiography (FA) — widefield dynamic angiography for
peripheral neovascularization, ischemia, vasculitis,
and vascular occlusion extent not visible on standard FA
Scanning laser ophthalmoscope (SLO) technology — non-contact confocal imaging;
no physical contact with the eye, no lens, comfortable for phobic or
pediatric patients
Red-free and autofluorescence modes — red-free improves contrast for
hemorrhage and vessel detail; AF maps RPE metabolic status for
AMD and dystrophy monitoring
No dilation required for most patients — captures through 2 mm pupils;
dramatically faster screening workflow vs. traditional dilated fundus exam
Optomap patient records — proprietary image management with
longitudinal comparison and electronic referral output
Proven platform with extensive literature — Optos ultra-widefield findings are referenced
in international diabetic retinopathy and uveitis guidelines
