The OptosCalifornia from Optos is an advanced ultra-widefield (UWF)
retinal imaging system designed to offer extremely wide retinal visualisation
with high diagnostic quality. Using its proprietary optomap® technology,
the device acquires images of up to 200° of the retina in a single scan
in less than half a second, allowing approximately82% of the retina to
be visualised without the need for pupil dilation in most cases.
The system integrates several advanced imaging modalities, including colour RGB,
red-free, autofluorescence ( FAF), fluorangiography (FA) and ICG angiography,
supporting the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases such as diabetic retinopathy,
glaucoma, uveitis and macular degeneration.
Operationally, theOptos California is characterised by its compact design,
high acquisition speed and advanced image management features such as ProView™,
which enables more accurate anatomical representation of the retina and
longitudinal comparison of examinations over time.
The cSLO (confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy) technology also
allows high-definition acquisitions even through small pupils or cataracts,
improving clinical workflow and operational efficiency.
