The PRIMUS densitometer from OsteoSys is an advanced,
full-body diagnostic system using DXA (Dual X-ray Absorptiometry) technology,
designed to measure bone mineral density (BMD), analyze body composition,
and assess skeletal morphology. The device enables comprehensive diagnosis
of osteoporosis, sarcopenia, obesity, and metabolic disorders by
scanning the entire body or selected anatomical areas.
PRIMUS utilizes modern Narrow Fan Beam DXA technology and
16-channel detectors, ensuring high measurement accuracy,
rapid examination time, and a wide scanning area.
This allows for efficient examination of the whole body,
lumbar spine (AP Spine), femoral neck (including Dual Femur),
forearm, lateral spine, and vertebral fracture assessment (VFA/LVA).
The device allows for the assessment of parameters such as: BMD,
BMC, BMI, T-score, Z-score, surface area of ​​the examined structure,
total bone mineral density, fat mass, fat-free mass and hip analysis (Hip Analysis),
The system also supports advanced diagnostic functions such as FRAX,
pediatric and orthopedic analysis, color mapping, trend reports,
ergonomic scanning mode and integration with DICOM and PACS systems,
PRIMUS was designed with patient comfort in mind – the reduced table height
facilitates positioning for elderly patients and those with limited mobility.
Examination times are short: from approximately 23–30 seconds for
point-of-care examinations to approximately 7 minutes for
a full-body examination in ergonomic mode.
Thanks to its extensive diagnostic capabilities and high measurement precision,
PRIMUS is used in osteoporosis, endocrinology, orthopedics, rheumatology,
sports medicine, and diabetology clinics, as well as in centers specializing in
body composition diagnostics and sarcopenia treatment.
