The CT-80 offers easier and faster operation using a new alignment bar
and improved air cylinder.
The interval between measurements has been reduced by more than 30%,
so that patients can be examined more comfortably over a shorter period of time.
Once alignment is complete, the resulting data is automatically measured
and displayed.
Triple Safety Feature
A Focus on Safety
The CT-80 features an innovative triple safety feature.
First, an adjustable safety cap can be adjusted by the operator.
Second, a "too close" display on the monitor guides the user in alignment.
Third, a buzzer alerts the operator if the cornea and instrument are too close.
Dual Sensor System
TOPCON's Precise Measuring System
The TOPCON CT-80 takes up its original measuring method using two sensors;
one for light and one for pressure.
When the air puff flattens the cornea a light sensor detects the moment of flattening,
while another sensor at the same time monitors the internal chamber
to obtain the intraocular pressure.
This new calculation system allows the operator
to obtain extremely precise measurement data
without the influence of atmospheric pressure,
altitude or possible mechanical degradation.
Built-in self-check function
The CT-80 notifies the operator in advance of the need for maintenance.
It displays a warning message on the monitor when a lens is dirty,
as well as its lens (the measuring glass or the chamber glass).
Optional Manual Override
The CT-80 can be used in fully manual mode
by overriding the automatic measurement setting.
The alignment procedure is similar to that used in
In automatic mode, however, measurements are not captured automatically.
Instead, the system must be activated manually by pressing the joystick trigger.
The alignment mark displayed on the monitor will change from a broken box to
a solid pattern once correct alignment is achieved.
Internal Fixation Target
Infrared illumination provides the primary illumination of the CT-80:
it eliminates the need for powerful, bright alignment lighting
and improves patient comfort.
Integrated printer
The CT-80 includes a built-in printer that provides a hard copy of all stored IOP data
with the press of a button.
Up to three individual measurements plus an average value
can be printed for each eye from automatic or manual mode.
