Textile digital printing is a recent technology that started in the mid 90s. But this technology is having a fast technologital development and it is getting more and more popular. The greats benefits of textile digital printing are the versatlity of creation and no limitation in colors. Also there is no need of engraving screen for printing. Last but not least it is better for envoronment because no ink in wasted. All the ink used goes on the fabric.
The used digital prining market is not that easy mainly because of the fast improvement of the technology. A 10 years old digital prinint machine for textile has lost most of its value becuse the more recent machines offers a huge gap in possibilities, speed and running costs. It is little bit like an old computer. When it's too old it becomes of no use. Hiwver this can also be an advantage because it can enable small prinetrs to start textile digital prining business at low costs.
The printing heads are not manufactuered by the textile printing machines makers. The main manufacturer of printing heads is Epson from Japan.
FAQ corner - questions and aswers from members:
I want to buy a used Reggiani Renoir digital printing machines but the seller tells me the heads have not be purged. Do you think they are still good?
Maybe the heads should be replaced. If it is the case you have to consider a high budget for that. One head costs around 6000 euros. If the machine has 16 heads you will have to spend 96,000 euros.
