24” CUTTERHEAD SUCTION DREDGE
Built 2005, reconditioned 2009 and again in 2015

modular design of all welded steel, 133’ x 32’ x 7’ depth, 3.5’
draft (hull only), 170’ overall length, 24 x 24 HHD 62 Georgia Iron
Works pump, DC motor G.E. 500 rpm, 3500 HP continuous 700
VDC armature, 9600 DC Digital drive system rated 3500 hp, 600
VAC input, 60 HZ, 72’ ladder plus 20’ extension, 700 hp electric
over hydraulic cutterhead, 300 hp jet pump, 36” x 50’ (plus 40’
extensions) spuds hoisted by independent winch with 200 hp
AC vector motors, (2) winches with 200 hp AC vector motors
with 150,000# pull at 80 fpm. Ladder hoist independent winch
powered with 100 hp AC motor. Dredge takes 4160 volt AC
power through 3000’ of 8000 volt rated cable spooled on a
diesel driven barge mounted reel. Cat 3406 emergency
generator set to operate the winches in case of power
