Gemini, Others Portable Tyre Inflation Kit Mk3
EUROPE (Western and Northern)
This equipment provides a means by which aircraft tyres, with pressures up to
a maximum of 500psi may be checked and inflated or deflated as necessary.
The kit consists of a metal carrying case containing a 1250l, Mk5F air cylinder,
pressurised to 3000psi, coupled to a stop valve, pressure controller, cylinder
pressure gauge, outlet (tyre) pressure gauge and an inflate/deflate valve. A
pressure relief valve is incorporated in the pressure controller. Connection to
the aircraft is through a 915mm length of metal braided PTFE hose terminating
in a swivel type nozzle to suit Schrader type valve stems. The cylinder and
outlet (tyre) pressure gauges have a range of –4000psi and 0-600psi
respectively. The pressure controller will accept inlet pressures up to 3000psi
to control outlet (tyre) pressures of 0-600psi. Instructions for operating the set
are etched on a plate in the lid of the case, together with a plate showing the
diagrammatic layout. Although normally fitted with an air cylinder, a nitrogen
cylinder may be fitted and suitable charging valves, with captive blanking
caps, are incorporated for charging the cylinder in-situ.
The carrying case is coloured golden yellow to conform with the standard finish for aircraft ground equipment.
