The KNI-582 is a sophisticated Radio Magnetic Indicator (RMI) from King's Gold Crown series for heavier General Aviation aircraft. It is compatible with a wide array of Silver and Gold Crown ADF and NAV receivers. The KNI-582 works by combining three data points on one indicator. The current aircraft heading from an HSI is shown on the card. The magnetic headings to VOR and NDB stations are shown by the twin needles. Either needle can be switched to show VOR or NDB data. By combining all this information visually, less interpretation is required. This boost in your overall situational awareness is especially helpful when the workload is high. The TSO'd KNI-582 requires the following inputs:

ADF: King KR-87, KDF-800, KDF-805, KDF-8000
HSI: King KCS-55/55A (or ARINC input required)
NAV Receiver: KN-53, KNS-80, KNS-81, KX-155, KX-165, KX-170B, KX-175B, KNR-615, KNR-630, KNR-634, KNR-665/665A
